MOHAMMAD ARDAH
JOB COACH:
KEITH DENSMORE
FIRST DAYS AT LIBERTY:
“I love animals and want to work with them” Mohammad said to his job coach, Keith. From his early days in the program, Mohammad was very shy and reserved. He has always been a hard worker. Mohammad rarely spoke up for himself and often waited to be given direction.
THE JOB SEARCH:
As time went by, Mohammad began to work with Keith towards finding employment with animals. Together, they would go to the library to job search. Each day, they would strengthen Mohammad’s vocational skills and build upon his weaknesses. Mohammad and Keith worked diligently, including applying online and in person.
ENCINO PET GROOMING:
Mohammad obtained a position at Encino Pet Grooming. Throughout his employment, he has demonstrated significant progress with his interpersonal and communication skills. Mohammad speaks up for himself, recalls events in a more logical sequence, expresses his likes and dislikes, and utilizes work terminology that he never did before (i.e., contract, schedule, boss, co-worker, etc.). He loves working with dogs and it has become his passion. Mohammad spends his weekends researching dog grooming on his days off during the weekend. He has expressed an interest in becoming a pet stylist.
LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE:
Mohammad hopes to gain employment as a pet stylist. With the assistance of his job coach, Mohammad has grown in all areas of his life. Mohammad and Keith’s special bond extends beyond job coaching. Both of their lives have been truly changed by their work together.
