FIRST DAYS AT LIBERTY:

“Liberty Employment has taught me to be a better person, they are there to help me and I know I am loved” Lynette told her job coach, Ericka. Lynette is a young, ambitious and independent individual who has the power to do anything she puts her mind to. During her first days at Liberty Employment Services, Lynette demonstrated a positive demeanor and approached others with confidence. She expressed interest in working in retail and hospitality as she enjoys socializing with others.

THE JOB SEARCH:

As time went by, Lynette worked with her job coach to build upon soft and hard skills, created a resume and volunteered at a local Thrift Shop. Lynette and her job coach strengthened her vocational skills each day. With the assistance of her job coach, Lynette was prepared for interviews and ready for the hiring process.

ROSEBUD COFFEE SHOP:

In April of 2019, Lynette gained a paid internship opportunity at Rosebud Coffee Shop. Rosebud Coffee Shop’s mission is to empower at-risk youth, one cup at a time. The coffee shop mentors homeless and transitional-aged youth as they practice their newfound craft -serving an amazing cup of coffee. “I love working with the people at Rosebud, the Rosebud family has taught me different things like not being scared of who I am”. Lynette has learned how to use a cash register, ask for clarification, accept feedback and manage her time effectively. With the support of her job coach and Rosebud Coffee Shop, Lynette has grown as an individual who displays independence and make improvements.

LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE:

Lynette is passionate about self-improvement; she continues to make strides communicating her wants and needs. She will continue interning with Rosebud Coffee Shop with her job coach while she searches for long-term employment. Lynette is eager to learn and loves the praise she receives when she completes work tasks effectively, “I like my job coach, Ericka, she wants to see me do well and that helps me and makes me try harder”. The road to success is a building block and Lynette is not alone on the pavement; she has an entire team behind her every step of the way.
